Joining Community Minds was both accidental and gift for me. By expressing interest in a Mental Health First Aid course, I sought to understand more about difficulties touching every area of community life in Wexford – difficulties experienced by adults, male and female, in every profession, path and decade of life and by little people, learning how to live. I had not realised participating in the training also meant becoming part of a group called Community Minds.

The recent Mental Health First Aid training, arranged by Community Minds, has thought me skills for providing initial help to people experiencing mental health difficulties and associated crises. It has given me skills to pay forward, through interactions at school, in clubs and in community work, the gifts I received when I needed them most.
